Empower Your Well-Being with Sound

Vivek is an IPHM-certified sound healing practitioner located in Asheville, North Carolina.

From an early age, Hindi film music, Hindustani ragas, ghazals, and qawwalis have been entwined into his daily life. His father was blessed with an amazing vocal range, and would frequently host musical gatherings where these poetic classics were sung. The sounds of the homeland still resonate deeply with Vivek to this day. Throughout his life, Vivek found himself returning back to music and sound for self healing and emotion regulation.

Vivek’s journey into sound healing practice began in 2012, when he experienced his first crystal bowl sound bath at his mother’s energy healing group. The resonance of the bowls left a lasting imprint on his body, mind, and spirit, planting a seed for future exploration.

In 2020, following a struggle with long COVID, Vivek delved deeper into alternative and holistic therapies. This quest for wellbeing led him to Nepal and India, where he studied Vipassana meditation, Dynamic meditation and Mahayana Buddhism. In Nepal, Vivek also experienced first hand the profound effects of Himalayan singing bowl meditations. Guided by various teachers, Vivek immersed himself in the study of sound healing methods. The intricate overtones, somatic resonance frequencies, and healing energies of the bowls left a profound impact on him, which he now shares with others.

Returning to Asheville, Vivek founded Somatic Sounds to offer sound therapy treatments and group sound baths to the community. The mission of Somatic Sounds is to empower individuals to harness the healing potential of sound.
